About this capture
Heritage interiors are the hardest thing to document cheaply. A church like St. George in Djulunitsa carries fresco cycles on curved plaster, timber roofs and worn stone floors — surfaces that resist a tape measure and reward dense imaging. The capture here was made by an independent creator and reconstructs the interior as a 3D Gaussian Splat: roughly 877,000 Gaussians carrying view-dependent colour, so the painted surface keeps its tonal shift as you orbit.
That matters for conservation because the deliverable is usable without specialist software. The scene streams into a browser as a SOG file at 14.3 MB, which means a curator, an architect or a funding body can open it on an ordinary laptop and inspect the plaster at eye level. Nothing has to be installed and nothing has to be licensed.
We publish it as reference material rather than as our own work. It demonstrates the exact delivery format Geopage ships for heritage commissions — capture, reconstruction, SOG compression, browser viewer — and it carries its creator's CC BY 4.0 licence in full, credited below.
